Airflow Regulators
In this section you'll find answers to frequently asked questions.
The Aldes CAR3 constant airflow regulator is a pressure-independent balancing damper that automatically regulates airflow in duct systems to a constant level. It is preset by the manufacturer and can be adjusted/set by the installer. The CAR3 requires no electrical or pneumatic power supply or sensors, and operates solely on system pressure.
- CAR3: guaranteed for 7 years, from the date of shipment, against all defects in material or workmanship, provided that the material has been installed and used under normal conditions. This warranty is limited to the repair or replacement of the material.
- ZRT: guaranteed for 3 years, from the date of shipment, against all manufacturing defects, provided the material has been installed and operated per the manufacturer’s instructions and under normal conditions. For all details about the warranties, please refer to the respective manuals.
The Airside products don’t create any airflow. They must be combined with a fan, an HVR/ERV, or another device that produces airflow. Aldes Airside products (24 V) can be connected to Aldes wall controllers and be combined with Aldes HRV/ERV units.
Yes, Airside products, like CAR3, can operate at a CFM range of up to 900 CFM. Furthermore, products like the ZRT-PDIL are specifically designed to meet the required specifications for commercial applications. The ZRT-PDIL’s duct-connection diameter (reaching up to 10’’) and its square area (24’’x12’’) increase its compatibility with commercial projects. Contact your regional sales representative for more information and for help finding the product you need.
Airside products offer both supply and exhaust solutions. However, Airside products used in exhaust applications cannot be used in supply applications and vice versa. The type of application (supply or exhaust) needs to be specified when the product is purchased.
To select the appropriate Airside product for your project, you must consider 3 criteria: the pressure, the CFM and the dimensions of your system. First, identify whether a low-pressure or high-pressure application is required in your project. Secondly, determine the CFM range required for your project and select the product that matches this requirement. Finally, measure your ventilation system and select the product that matches those dimensions. If your project has additional requirements, a wide range of products (i.e., fire dampers, actuators, products with different voltages and grilles) can be bought separately.
Products like CAR3 don’t need any electrical connections since they work entirely mechanically. Products like ZRTs can be connected to Aldes wall controls. Refer to the installation manual of your product for detailed diagrams and installation instructions.
